So many awesome things are happening with Northern Ontario rockers Midnight Shine that they now need their own section!
The band just came off a very successful Canadian Music Week, where they performed five shows in five days – including the Hard Rock Café and the legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
They got great press, too, including a (surprise!) concert review by thereviewsarein.com and photos in Spill Magazine. Frontman Adrian Sutherland also spent time in the CBC Toronto studio with Nana aba Duncan for this wonderful interview that ran on Fresh Air. Thank you Nana aba!
Midnight Shine has been getting significant airplay for their new single, too. It’s called Sister Love, and this week it was chosen as #4 on the “Top 11 songs you need to hear” by music journalist Alan Cross.
It’s also been getting some love from 102.1 The Edge in Toronto, 94.9 The Rock in Toronto, Rock 106 in Lethbridge, CFMF 103.1 in Quebec, CKGN in Hearst, CBC Radio, and many more. It’s a great song, and if you haven’t heard it yet, check it out HERE!
If you’ve never seen the band perform, check out these terrific videos shot at CMW:
The band will be heading out on tour for the first time this summer, and are especially excited to play the Main Stage at RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa on July 16.
If you’d like to book them to perform at your festival or event, contact Midnight Shine’s booking agent Ralph James at United Talent Agency. Find his contact details HERE.

With Christmas upon us, no doubt there’s still lots of work-work to be done (emails, phone calls, documents, reports). However, holiday-work has likely taken over by now (shopping, wrapping, preparing, celebrating), which actually makes Christmas the most effective time of year to procrastinate… let me explain…
Having both holiday-work and work-work to do means you can avoid work-work, while the holiday-work allows you to feel like you’ve still achieved something – and feeling like you’ve achieved something is always a good thing, no matter what time of year.
This holiday season, give yourself the gift of achievement by letting holiday-work take over for a little while, and postponing all work-work until next year. You have your permission. (And your family’s.)
